The thorn birds

This miniseries is based on the book The Thorn Birds which written by Australian author Colleen McCullough. From my perspective, it is a cruel and romantic story, however, instead of being touched by the love between Meggie and Ralph, what really impressed me is the relationships in generations. Meggie has always been ignored by her mother because that her mother Fee only cares about her brother Frank who is the child of Fee' s true love. And Meggie just does same thing to her daughter as what her mother die to her. Fortunately, the daughter Justine is grown up to be a wise, odd but kind and thoughtful person. She is talented at performance on stage and she met her lover Rainer that loves her and supports her, the most important thing is Meggie begged for her forgiveness at the end. In fact, the period which little Meggie spent time with Ralph is more moving to me because he was the only one that cared about her and played with her. Additionally, Jean Simons and Barbara Stanwick performed in this series.
